Science, Nanotechnology, IoT and Its Application for Universal Healthcare
Health is a primary human need and as the quality of life improves, so does the demand for better healthcare. Technology plays a dual role in this context. On one hand, it enhances the quality of life, but on the other, it can lead to environmental and health issues due to pollution and lifestyle changes. Advanced health technology, however, has been beneficial, enabling the diagnosis of diseases that were previously undetectable due to limited equipment.
The Faculty of Medicine and Health at ITS contributes to health technology development, with fundamental sciences like chemistry, physics, biology, and pharmacy forming the crucial scientific basis. The advent of advanced materials and nanotechnology has improved the performance of various medical materials and drug delivery systems. The digitalization of life, with the application of AI and IoT, also impacts human health. While excessive gadget use can lead to health issues, AI and IoT applications in healthcare, such as wheelchairs and blood sugar controllers, enhance the quality of life.
To achieve synergy in health applications of fundamental sciences, advanced materials, nanotechnology, and IoT, collaboration among various stakeholders is essential. Hence, the Research Centre for Fundamental Sciences, Research Centre for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, and Research Centre for Internet of Things-Defense Technology (IoTTP) have collaborated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health, ITS, to hold an international conference called the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SCIENCES, NANO AND HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY (ICOSNHT-2024). This conference aims to create innovative and sustainable solutions through collaboration.
